現代語訳
藤棚は、我が国はもとより海外にも、また古今にも全く聞いたことのない壮観である。そのため遠近から日ごとに来賞する人が幾百千というほど多く、その数を知ることができない。特にこの家は水に近く、船遊びに便利であるので、伊勢国より船で来遊する人が最も多い。なお図によって万分の一を想像すべきである。
《割書：紫の蔓藤が縦横百歩にわたって日を覆い隠す藤棚は、一本の根からこの奇観が生まれている。春夏の境には、武田家を訪れない人はいない。》

The wisteria arbor presents a magnificent spectacle that has never been seen or heard of, not only in our country but also overseas, and throughout all ages, ancient and modern. Therefore, people come daily from far and near to admire it—hundreds and thousands whose exact number cannot be known. Particularly since this house is near water and convenient for boat excursions, many people come by boat from Ise Province to visit. One should imagine even one ten-thousandth of this from the illustration.
