桜（さくら）天満宮《割書：小桜（こざくら）町本町西へ｜入南側にあり》織田備後守信秀つねに天満宮を
信仰（しんかう）し或時京都北野へ参詣ありけるが一夜（あるよ）の夢（ゆめ）に菅神
枕上（まくらがみ）に立給ひ我此梅松院にある事年久し今 汝（なんぢ）が住（じう）
国（こく）にむかへよ諸民の安全を守らんと告給ひしかばいそぎ梅
松院に至り其旨を語（かた）りしに梅松院も前夜に見し夢
の霊告（れいこく）に苻合（ふがう）せしかば彼院の霊宝（れいほう）なる御自作の神像
を信秀に付与（ふよ）しけるを天文九年こゝにうつし社を創建（さうこん）
して安置（あんち）し万松寺の鎮守（ちんじゆ）とせしが慶長御遷府の時
万松寺を今の所へうつされしかども御鬮（みくじ）の神慮（しんりよ）にまかせ此
社は残（のこ）りてこゝにいませり《割書：入道前菅大納言のかゝれし縁｜起ありこの文と大同小異なり》神木に桜
の大樹ありし故桜天満宮と称す別当桜花山霊岳院は
曹洞宗にて則万松寺の末刹（まつせつ）開山は清庵宗仙首座也《割書：彼｜桜》

桜天満宮（小桜町本町西へ入って南側にある）
織田備後守信秀は常に天満宮を信仰しており、ある時京都北野天満宮へ参詣したところ、ある夜の夢に菅原道真公が枕元に立たれて「我はこの梅松院にいること久しい。今、汝の住む国に迎えよ。諸民の安全を守ろう」と告げられた。そこで急いで梅松院に至り、その旨を語ったところ、梅松院でも前夜に見た夢の霊告と一致したため、その院の霊宝である菅原道真公御自作の神像を信秀に授けた。天文九年（1540年）にここに移し、社を創建して安置し、万松寺の鎮守としたが、慶長年間の御遷府（名古屋城築城に伴う町割り）の時、万松寺は今の場所に移されたけれども、御籤による神のお心に任せ、この社は残ってここにある。（入道前菅大納言が書かれた縁起があり、この文と大同小異である）
神木に桜の大樹があったため桜天満宮と称する。別当桜花山霊岳院は曹洞宗で、万松寺の末寺である。開山は清庵宗仙首座である。（その桜の樹は万治三年（1660年）正月の大火で焼失し、今はその名のみが残っている）

Sakura Tenmangu Shrine (located on the south side after entering west into Kozakura-cho Honcho)
Oda Bingo-no-kami Nobuhide constantly worshipped Tenmangu shrines. Once, when he made a pilgrimage to Kitano in Kyoto, in a dream one night, the deity Sugawara no Michizane appeared at his pillow and declared: "I have been at this Baishoin Temple for many years. Now welcome me to the country where you dwell, and I will protect the safety of all people." Nobuhide hurried to Baishoin Temple and related this message. The temple had received the same divine revelation in a dream the previous night, so they bestowed upon Nobuhide the sacred treasure of the temple - a divine image carved by Michizane himself. In Tenbun 9 (1540), he moved it here, built a shrine, and enshrined it as the guardian deity of Manshoji Temple. During the great relocation of Keicho era (when Nagoya Castle was built and the town reorganized), Manshoji Temple was moved to its present location, but following the divine will as indicated by sacred lots, this shrine remained here. (There exists a written account by the former Kan Dainagon who had taken Buddhist vows, which is substantially similar to this text.)
Because there was a large sakura (cherry) tree as the sacred tree, it is called Sakura Tenmangu. The temple administrator, Oukasan Reigakuin, belongs to the Soto Zen sect and is a branch temple of Manshoji. The founding priest was Seian Sosen Shuza. (That cherry tree was destroyed in the great fire of Manji 3 (1660), first month, and now only its name remains.)
