現代語訳
普請奉行預かりの足軽に召し抱えられた。
一、天和三年亥年（月日不詳）八石二人扶持に成り下され、夜回りに召し抜かれ十八年間勤めた。その間、江戸勤番に数度上り、諸郷村の種々の御用を勤め、他藩への隠密の御用等を御指名により度々仰せ付けられ、また算書編集を仕り差し上げたことにより御称美を成し下された。
一、元禄十四年巳年（月日不詳）御金蔵番を仰せ付けられた。
ただし右勤務中、押金の御用を度々仰せ付けられた。
一、宝永五年子年（月日不詳）新貸方役所下役に召し抜かれた。
ただし右勤務中、金先御用で他藩往来を数度仕った。
一、正徳五年未年十月、御次医師に仰せ付けられ、格式は星野雲意の上に成し下された。
ただしこの節、池内玄丹と姓名を改めた。
英語訳
He was employed as an ashigaru (foot soldier) under the supervision of the Public Works Magistrate.
1. In the 3rd year of Tenna, Year of the Boar (month unknown), he was granted eight koku and stipend for two retainers, selected for night patrol duty, and served for eighteen years. During this period, he went up to Edo for garrison duty several times, performed various official duties in villages and districts, was frequently appointed by direct designation for secret missions to other domains, and received commendation for compiling and submitting calculation records.
1. In the 14th year of Genroku, Year of the Snake (month unknown), he was appointed as Treasury Guard.
Note: During this service, he was frequently assigned duties related to押金 (押金).
1. In the 5th year of Hōei, Year of the Rat (month unknown), he was selected as a subordinate official in the New Lending Office.
Note: During this service, he made several trips to other domains for financial advance duties.
1. In the 5th year of Shōtoku, Year of the Sheep, 10th month, he was appointed as an attending physician, with a rank above that of Hoshino Un'i.
Note: At this time, he changed his name to Ikeuchi Gentan.
