人吟味役兼役被 仰付御代官勤をも
補相勤候様依之旁格別之訳を以重キ
儀ニ候へ共独礼被成下御役料只今迄之通
被下置田島郷役所江致出役地下労
費相省農産業相励候様可取計旨

一 同月先務之節田島郷役所掛り
七ヶ村川除普請人足過分可相懸
処存寄ヲ以致減少出精相勤候ニ付為
御褒美金百疋被下置候事
一 同七卯年十二月去々年芝御屋
敷御類焼ニ付急調達出精取計候ニ付
為御褒美銀三両被下置候事
一 同八辰年三月年来格別精出相
勤地下気向難渋之処諸事宜取
扱功作も有之者ニ付只今迄之御役料
三石御加増ニ御直被下置之旨被
仰出候事
一 同十一未年五月地下取扱を始臨時
之御用向細々心を附出精宜取計
現代語訳
人事吟味役を兼任するよう仰せ付けられ、御代官の勤めも
補佐して相勤めるようにと、これらの事情により格別の理由をもって重要な
職務であるけれども、独礼の待遇を賜り、御役料は今まで通り
下し置かれ、田島郷役所へ出向いて、地下（農民）の労働
費用を節約し農業生産を奨励するよう取り計らうべき旨
仰せ付けられた事
一 同月、先般の件で田島郷役所担当として
七ヶ村の川除け普請で人足が過分にかかる
ところを、工夫をもって削減し、精励して勤めたことにより、
御褒美として金百疋を下し置かれた事
一 同七卯年十二月、一昨年の芝御屋敷
御類焼により急な調達を精励して取り計らったことにより、
御褒美として銀三両を下し置かれた事
一 同八辰年三月、年来格別に精進して相
勤め、地下の気向きが難渋しているところ、諸事よろしく取り
扱い功績もあった者であるため、今までの御役料に
三石を御加増として御直々に下し置かれる旨
仰せ出された事
一 同十一未年五月、地下の取り扱いをはじめ臨時の
御用向きに細々と心を配り精励してよろしく取り計らった

was appointed to concurrently serve as personnel investigation officer, and was to
assist in the duties of the deputy magistrate (godaikan) as well. Due to these circumstances and for special reasons, although this was a heavy
responsibility, he was granted the status of independent audience (dokurei), with his stipend continuing as before.
He was assigned to work at the Tajima district office to reduce the labor
costs of the local farmers and encourage agricultural production.
一 In the same month, regarding the previous matter at the Tajima district office,
for the river maintenance construction work in seven villages, which would normally require
excessive laborers, he devised ways to reduce the number and worked diligently, and for this
he was rewarded with 100 hiki of gold.
一 In the 7th year, 12th month of Kansei (December 1795), due to the fire at the Shiba residence
two years prior, he diligently arranged emergency procurement, and for this
he was rewarded with 3 ryō of silver.
一 In the 8th year, 3rd month of Kansei (March 1796), having worked with exceptional
diligence for many years, and despite the difficult circumstances of the local farmers, he handled various matters well and
achieved merit. Therefore, his current stipend was
increased by 3 koku, granted directly by the lord.
一 In the 11th year, 5th month of Kansei (May 1799), he handled local farmers' affairs and various temporary
official duties with careful attention to detail and diligent service.
