現代語訳
女房はそのことを聞いて惜しいことに思い、鉄砲洲の沖へその捨てた千両の金を拾おうと、五十文ほど持って来た。三月頃のように潮は引いて明るく、そこここと探したが見つからず、代わりにはまぐりを四、五升拾った。これも百文ほどの得をした。
英語訳
The wife heard about this and thought it was such a waste, so she came with about fifty mon, intending to retrieve the thousand ryō that had been thrown into the waters off Teppōzu. The tide was out and it was bright, like in March, and she searched here and there but couldn't find it. Instead, she picked up four or five shō of clams, which also brought her a profit of about one hundred mon.
