者￣ヲ＿上。況￣ヤ慈-父無￣ンヤ＿下不￣ル＿レ愛＿二-育￣セ其￣ノ-子￣ヲ＿一者＿上乎。雖￣トモ＿レ然￣ト。寿-夭
不￣ハ＿レ同￣カラ命￣ナリ也。桐-梓殖￣スレトモ＿レ之￣ヲ。若￣キハ＿二肥-磽￣ノ＿一則地￣ナリ也。嗚-呼。
四-海太-平。元-元浴￣シテ＿二徳-化￣ノ之余-波￣ニ＿一。而親＿二-炙￣ス恒￣ノ-
産￣ヲ＿一矣。彼￣ノ天-疫流-行￣ハ時￣ナリ也。人-固（モトヨリ）憂￣フ＿レ之￣ヲ。其￣ノ-中痘

痘家初心問答序
桐や梓を手に取って育てる。人がもしそれを生かそうと欲するなら、皆それを養う方法を知っている。まして慈愛深い父親で、その子を愛し育てない者がいるだろうか。しかしながら、寿命の長短は同じではない運命である。桐や梓を植えても、土地が肥沃か痩せているかによって違いが出るものである。ああ、嘆かわしいことよ。
四海は太平で、人々は徳化の恩恵に浴し、恒産を親しみ大切にしている。しかし天の疫病が流行する時がある。人は元来これを憂う。その中でも痘瘡は特に甚だしい。天命が周り行くものとはいえ、人の意思でこれを避けることができ、正命に至るのである。君子は順に受け入れる。どうして痘瘡に至って疑うことがあろうか。ここに

Taking paulownia and catalpa trees in hand to nurture them. If people desire to make them live, they all know the methods to nourish them. How much more so would a loving father not love and raise his children? Nevertheless, longevity and early death are fates that are not the same. Even when planting paulownia and catalpa, differences arise depending on whether the soil is fertile or barren. Alas, how lamentable!
The four seas are at peace, and people bathe in the beneficent waves of virtuous transformation, cherishing their stable livelihood. Yet there are times when heavenly epidemics spread.
