帰る際、武石峠はまだ雪で人馬の往来ができなかったので、保福寺峠を回って上田へ出て平賀へ来た。
甲州では一両につき二斗七升である。これは甲金（甲州金）で、文金十両に対して甲金七両二朱の場所である。信州より少々値段が安いため、信州へ入れようとしたが、甲州御代官中井清太夫の指図により穀止めとなり、その後は背負荷で少しずつ来るようになった。

In Kai Province, one ryō was worth 2 to 7 shō of grain. This was in Kai gold (Kōshū currency), where the exchange rate was 7 ryō 2 shu of Kai gold for 10 ryō of standard currency. Since prices were somewhat lower than in Shinano Province, they tried to bring grain into Shinano, but due to orders from Kai Province magistrate Nakai Seitadayū, grain exports were prohibited, and thereafter only small amounts could be brought in by pack carriers.
