丙午丁未之歳中国遭扨輙チ有変故非禍生於内則

見るまゝに爰にこれを写して子孫に残ス

右一冊花井氏之本を借りて写し終る

跋
兼穂録二に曰く、俗間において丙午の年を忌むのは、容斎随筆に「丙午丁未の歳、中国は災いに遭い、しばしば変事があった。故に禍いが内に生じなければ、夷狄が外から侮る」とある。また丙丁亀鑑にもこの類が多く挙げられている。
見るままに、ここにこれを写して子孫に残す。

Postscript
The Kaneho-roku II states that the common people's avoidance of the hinoe-uma year is based on the Yōsai Zuihitsu, which says: "In the years of hinoe-uma and hinoto-hitsuji, China suffered disasters and frequently experienced upheavals. Therefore, if calamities do not arise from within, barbarians will show contempt from without." The Hei-tei Kikan also cites many examples of this type.
I copy this as I see it and leave it for posterity.
