立ち上がる藤木の下から烏川の水を突き留め、平押しに八町、河岸南通り本庄宿の北盆まで流れ、水田畑の損害は甚大であった。新河岸は八町河岸まで流れ、死人や馬が泥の上に累々と横たわっていた。そのため近郷の寺々で施餓鬼法事が行われ、大きな卒都婆を所々に立てた。そこから大川を押し切り、熊谷の裏、間々の聖天へ押し抜け、川下の関宿へ流れる人馬の数は計り知れなかった。前橋御城外の堀は利根川の押し出しによって埋まったため、堀をさらうよう命じられ、掘り出された人は六十四人、寺院に命じて土葬を行った。犬馬の死は数知れず。倉ヶ野近辺の村々の泥押しの中に馬一匹が泥に埋まり、わずかに頭だけが生きて見えていたため、その馬を掘り出した。石砂を掘った所から南鐐銀五片を掘り出し、その他桶や橋を三つ四つ掘り出した。

Rising from beneath the wisteria trees, the waters of the Karasu River were blocked and pushed forward in a flat surge for eight chō, flowing along the riverside south road to the northern basin of Honjō-juku post station, causing enormous damage to rice paddies and fields. The new riverside flowed to the eight-chō riverbank, with dead people and horses lying in heaps upon the mud. Consequently, temples in nearby villages held segaki memorial services and erected large sotoba memorial tablets in various places. From there, the waters broke through the great river, pushed through behind Kumagaya to the Shōten shrine at Manuma, and flowed downstream to Sekiyado. The number of people and horses that flowed away was incalculable. The moat outside Maebashi Castle was filled by the outflow from the Tone River, so orders were given to clear the moat. Sixty-four people were dug out and buried by temple order. The deaths of dogs and horses were countless. In the mud flows near villages around Kuragano, one horse was buried in mud with only its head barely visible and alive, so that horse was dug out. From where stones and sand were excavated, five pieces of nanryō silver were dug up, and three or four buckets and bridges were also excavated.
