又左衛門殿秀吉へ城主徳山五兵衛事無別義城相渡
申上候可被成御対面候哉と御伺候処尓又左衛門殿へ御意
尓は先々同国お山の城佐久間玄蕃居城尓可被成
御急候徳山儀は重而之談合に可仕候との御意也云々
そ連より直に佐久間玄蕃居城へ御急被成候処尓
お山能城玄蕃留主所より使御座候其様子は玄蕃
事御合戦場よりいつ地ともなく落行候間此城無左右
明可渡との事也云々蜂須賀彦右衛門御使として玄
蕃留主所への御意には扨は玄蕃事は城へ不帰候哉
一里足にひかへ候は玄蕃家中の下々迄能妻子越無
相違のけさせんかため也家財其外可被遣候間一先つ
面々の知行方へと被仰遣候へは留主居扨は面々の妻子
共の悦申事不勝斗忝かり申候事
一御使たち申其日より明日一日尓悉妻子を退け角
と申上候翌日三日目尓玄蕃城お山能城御請取被
成候処尓能登より長九郎左衛門自身加州お山へ
祠候被仕候切腹被仰付候共命可被成御助共御諚次第
とて被参候此上は只今の持かゝりの知行にて前田又左

又左衛門殿（前田利家）が秀吉へ「城主徳山五兵衛は何の問題もなく城を引き渡し申し上げました。お目通りをお許しいただけるでしょうか」と伺ったところ、又左衛門殿への御意には「まずは同国の尾山の城で佐久間玄蕃が居城としているところへ急いで向かうように。徳山の件は改めて相談しましょう」との御意であった。
それより直ちに佐久間玄蕃の居城へ急いで向かったところ、尾山の城の玄蕃の留守居役より使者が来た。その内容は「玄蕃は合戦場からどこともなく落ち延びました。この城は無条件で明け渡します」ということであった。蜂須賀彦右衛門が使者として玄蕃の留守居役への御意を伝えた。「それでは玄蕃は城へ帰らないのか。
一里ほど離れた場所で控えているのは、玄蕃の家中の下々に至るまでの妻子を間違いなく逃がすためである。家財その他を持参させるので、まずはそれぞれの知行地へ」と仰せ遣わしたところ、留守居は「それではそれぞれの妻子たちが喜び申すこと、この上なく有り難いことです」と申した。
使者たちが申すには「その日から翌日一日ですべての妻子を退去させる」と申し上げた。翌日三日目に玄蕃の城、尾山の城をお受け取りになったところ、能登より長九郎左衛門自身が加州尾山へ参り、切腹を仰せ付けられても命をお助けいただいても御諚次第であると参上した。この上は今の持ち分の知行で前田又左（衛門）

When Matazaemon-dono (Maeda Toshiie) reported to Hideyoshi, "Castle lord Tokuyama Gohei has surrendered the castle without any issues. Might he be granted an audience?" The response to Matazaemon-dono was: "First, hurry to Oyama Castle in the same province, where Sakuma Genba has his residence. The matter of Tokuyama will be discussed at a later time."
From there, they immediately hurried to Sakuma Genba's residence castle. At Oyama Castle, a messenger came from Genba's caretakers during his absence. The message was: "Genba has fled from the battlefield to parts unknown. This castle will be surrendered unconditionally." Hachisuka Hikoemon served as messenger to convey the lord's will to Genba's caretakers: "So Genba will not return to the castle?
The reason for waiting about one ri away is to ensure the safe evacuation of the wives and children of all of Genba's retainers, down to the lowest ranks. Since household goods and other possessions will be sent, everyone should first go to their respective fiefs." When this was conveyed, the caretaker responded, "Then the wives and children of everyone will rejoice beyond measure - this is most gracious."
The messengers stated that "all wives and children would be evacuated within one day from that day until the next." On the third day, Genba's castle, Oyama Castle, was officially received.
