衛門と一味すべし」との御意により、命を助けられるのみならず、御知行まで居城において安堵された。
又左衛門殿も皆々聞かれよ。「勝家に打ち勝ったので、秀吉も安堵し過ぎている。それならば引き取ろう」として、加州尾山の城へお入りになった。加州半国、能登一国を前田又左衛門利家へ進上された。能登の内で長九郎左衛門に仰せ出された趣旨は「前田又左衛門に付け置く。何事も利家次第である」との御意であった。
［按］右の川角太閤記の文言は、証書と同意の実記である。新刊本凡例に言う。「この書の作者は永禄天正の頃に在世した老練な人で、その時代の争戦を経験した人である」云々。
小瀬甫庵の太閤記に言う。「四月二十四日北庄落城、二十六日加賀国の御仕置のため下向、五、三日金沢城に滞留し、石川河北両郡を相添えて利家にこれを賜り、頓て引き帰られた」云々。
同月二十七日、富田景政に賜った利家卿の親簡に言う。「去る二十五日小松城を我等請け取り、翌二十六日宮腰に到り金沢城に着陣、今日決着できる様子である」云々。［按］小瀬の太閤記およびこの親簡の文意によれば、加賀二郡を賜ったのは二十七日もしくは二十八日であろうか。富田氏本封叙次考では二十六日としているが、恐らく間違いであろう。
天正十三年九月、佐々成政の領分越中国砺波・射水・婦負三郡を加封した豊太閤の親簡は左の如し。蓋し世子利勝君への証書の文言は諸旧記に記載されていない。
英語訳
"should ally with Matazaemon." By this decree, not only was his life spared, but he was also granted security in his residence and fiefs.
Matazaemon-dono also announced to everyone: "Having defeated Katsuie, Hideyoshi has become overly complacent. Therefore, let us withdraw," and he entered Kaga's Oyama Castle. Half of Kaga Province and all of Noto Province were granted to Maeda Matazaemon Toshiie. The instructions given to Cho Kuroemon within Noto were: "You are to be placed under Maeda Matazaemon. Everything is to be according to Toshiie's discretion."
[Note] The above passage from the Kawasumi Taiko-ki is a factual record with the same meaning as the certificate. The preface to the new edition states: "The author of this book was an experienced elder who lived during the Eiroku and Tensho periods and personally witnessed the wars of that era."
Koze Hoan's Taiko-ki states: "On the 24th day of the 4th month, Kitanosho Castle fell. On the 26th, [Hideyoshi] went down to Kaga Province for administrative purposes, stayed at Kanazawa Castle for three to five days, granted Ishikawa and Kahoku districts in addition to Toshiie, and then promptly returned."
In a personal letter from Lord Toshiie given to Tomita Kagemasa on the 27th of the same month, it says: "On the 25th, we took possession of Komatsu Castle, and on the following 26th, we arrived at Miyakoshi and established camp at Kanazawa Castle. It appears the matter can be concluded today." [Note] According to the meaning of Koze's Taiko-ki and this personal letter, the granting of the two Kaga districts was likely on the 27th or 28th. The Tomita-shi Honpo Jojikou considers it to be the 26th, but this is probably incorrect.
In the 9th month of Tensho 13, the personal letter from Toyotaiko regarding the additional grant of the three districts of Tonami, Imizu, and Nei in Etchu Province, formerly Sassa Narimasa's territory, is as follows. The wording of the certificate to the heir Toshikatsu is not recorded in various old records.
