御壁塀が倒れているところを踏み越えて出てみたところ、
高砂御門内の藤棚の下で安らかに
いらっしゃり、御付きの女中なども御守護申し上げている
とのこと。不慮の御大変とは申しながら、夜更けにこのような
お姿は恐れ多くも勿体ないことと存じます。
されども仕方のない御様子で、お風邪など
お引きにならないよう、何かとお心遣い申し上げていると、そのうちに
早くも御屋敷へ火が移り、所々に燃え移り、その頃
には朽木御屋敷から引き続き伊東様
御屋敷辺り、その他諸方に出火し、夜半過ぎ
頃までは御広式は無事であろうと
見ていましたが、井戸水といってもすべて家が倒れ込み、
火消し道具もすでに焼失し、外から駆け付ける
火消しといっても一人もおらず、ただ手を束ね
天運のみを祈っておりましたが、御広式だけ残った
としても、
お立ち退きには及ばないであろうと申し合わせていたところ、火勢が
激しく、風下でない所まで延び蔓延し、
ついに御広式にも燃え移りました。そのような状況では夜明け
前に何方へでもお立ち退きになる方がよろしいと申し合わせた
ところ、溜池御中屋敷はとてもお入り
いただけるような状況ではなく、小城屋敷は過半が倒れ、
鹿島屋敷は当時至って手狭で、蓮池
屋敷がよろしいかと思われましたが、御召し輿その他
御行列道具すべてが焼失に及び、いずれにしても

The walls and fences of the residences along the path had collapsed,
