書差上申候少相備候深川本庄且
広小路筋或は吉原辺之咄残り候得共

相知野田清右衛門小屋へ参倅通之助ト
碁を打居被申清右衛門ニは脇ゟ見物
致居被申不図大地震ニ付父子共
御蔵倒其上ニ明善堂倒重候上を
踏越立退被申洞雲ニは御蔵之
塀下ニ相成居被申候由御坐候誠ニ一時

書状を提出いたします。少し備えております深川本庄また
広小路筋或いは吉原辺りの話が残っておりますが、
取り留めのないことは一々挙げる暇もございません。別紙の死亡者のことは
誠に断腸の思いでございます。洞雲の死体がようやく八日を経て
分かり、野田清右衛門の小屋へ参りました倅の通之助と
碁を打っておられました。清右衛門は脇から見物
しておられました。不意の大地震により、父子とも
御蔵が倒れ、その上に明善堂が倒れ重なった上を
踏み越えて立ち退かれました。洞雲は御蔵の
塀の下敷きになっておられたとのことでございます。誠に一時の
御災害で
御前様の御行列道具や御膳部類、
第一に賢崇寺の御宝塔、
御尊牌、
孝台院様の御宝塔、溜池の方は
外御囲い塀、新里御長屋の起こし方修理、
両御住居所の御内外役人の詰所、御長屋
など、治まり切らない分だけ掘立小屋を夜を日に
継いで急場の御手当て、中々一通りの
御事ではございません。御賢察くださることと
存じます。何かと細々とお伺いしたく存じますが、
別して御多事でままならず、まずは御受け方々
急筆でご覧くださいませ。なお後音を期待しております。

I am submitting reports on various mansion inspections along with
documents recently presented. I have some accounts prepared regarding Fukagawa Honjo and
the Hiroji district or the Yoshiwara area, but
I do not have time to enumerate every inconsequential matter. Regarding the deaths listed in the separate document,
I am truly heartbroken. Donun's body was finally found after eight days had passed.
I went to Noda Seizaemon's hut where my son Michinosuke was
playing go. Seizaemon was watching from the side.
Due to the sudden great earthquake, both father and son
had a storehouse collapse, and then the Meizendo hall collapsed on top of it, and they
escaped by climbing over the pile. As for Donun, he was
trapped under the storehouse
wall. This was truly a momentary
disaster that affected
His Lordship's procession equipment and dining utensils,
most importantly the precious pagoda of Kensoji Temple,
the sacred memorial tablets,
the precious pagoda of Lady Kodaiin, and toward Tameike
the outer enclosure walls, repairs for raising the Niisato long house,
the quarters for inner and outer officials of both residences, long houses—
for those that could not be fully restored, temporary huts were built day and night
continuously for emergency measures. This is by no means
an ordinary matter. I trust
you will understand with your wise judgment. I would like to inquire about various details, but
being especially busy with many affairs and unable to manage everything, first as acknowledgment
