山は日光を遮り尽くし、なお薄暗く陰々として別の乾坤を作るがごとし
もし冷泉熱泉の二つの泉が湧き出なければ、寂々寥々たる一水村なり

病を養うにはこの地を愛し、幽静なり。春が去り夏が来てもまだ帰らず

私はかつて摂津国の官吏として、常に夏の暑さに苦しんだ。三伏の官暇には例として有馬山に入った。有馬山には宝池があり、神功により霊泉が湧き出る。炎毒を消すことができ、沈痾を治すことができる。況んや渓山美画は絶景、緑の古寺雲樹は楼閣を表し、奇巌は前にあり。人間にこのような境地があれば、もはや神仙を羨む必要はない。陳跡は一夢に帰し、修□は忽ち七年。
○再び□□裏に落ち、日々俗累に纏われる。山中に故人有り、頃日箏を鼓し□□、再遊を勤励す。高情我を□せず、詩を賦して故人に謝す。三歎独り□、再遊期すべからず。□首して西天を望む。
○有馬邑長梶木氏、書を寄せて私の再遊を促すも、私は未だ行くを果たさず。これを賦して謝す。

【Below the road map】
I once served as an official in Settsu Province and constantly suffered from summer heat. During the three hottest periods, I would customarily retreat to Mount Arima. Mount Arima has a precious pond where sacred springs emerge through divine power. They can eliminate heat poison and cure chronic ailments. Moreover, the valley and mountain scenery is absolutely beautiful, with ancient temples among green trees representing pavilions and strange rocks in front. If such realms exist in the human world, there is no need to envy immortals. Old traces return to dreams, and seven years pass in an instant.
○ Falling again into mundane affairs, daily entangled in worldly troubles. There is an old friend in the mountains who recently played the koto, encouraging another visit. His noble spirit does not abandon me. I compose this poem to thank my old friend. Three sighs alone, another visit cannot be promised. I look up toward the western sky.
○ Kajiki, the village head of Arima, sent word urging my return visit, but I have not yet managed to go. I compose this in gratitude.
