【右頁上段】
○鴉（カラス）は嘴が大きく、むさぼることを好む。黒焼きにして痩せ病、咳嗽、労疾を治療する。
○烏（カラス）は嘴が細く、鴉より小さい。生まれて母が餌を与えること六十日、巣立ちして母に餌を与えること六十日。そのため慈烏と呼ぶ。
○鳶（トビ）は鷹に似ている。鴟と同じ。黒焼きにして頭風を治療する。

○怪鴟（ヨタカ）はフクロウの仲間で、夜出て昼は隠れている。形は鷹に似ているが小さい。不祥の鳥である。
○角鴟（ミミズク）は形がフクロウで小さい。頭と目は猫のようで、毛の角が両耳にある。昼は伏せて夜出てくる。声は老人が物を呼ぶようである。

○The crow (karasu) has a large beak and likes to be greedy. When made into charcoal powder, it treats wasting disease, cough, and consumption.
○The raven (karasu) has a thin beak and is smaller than the crow. After birth, the mother feeds it for sixty days; after leaving the nest, it feeds its mother for sixty days. Therefore it is called the "filial raven."
○The kite (tobi) resembles a hawk. It is the same as the kite. When made into charcoal powder, it treats headaches.

○The nightjar (yotaka) is of the owl family, comes out at night and hides during the day. Its form resembles a hawk but is smaller. It is an inauspicious bird.
○The horned owl (mimizuku) has the form of an owl but is smaller. Its head and eyes are like a cat's, with tufted "horns" on both ears. It lies low during the day and comes out at night. Its voice is like an old person calling for something.
