勤番として江戸表へ罷り登った節、「此度は新参にて罷り登り、御用の品々を古参と変わらず相勤め、寄持（より頼もしく）思し召しの旨」を仰せ出され、一陣を相勤め罷り下った。

御前において、麻の御上下一具を下し置かれた。

One entry: 2nd month of the same (Shōtoku) 3rd year, Year of the Snake (1713)
On the occasion of traveling up to Edo on duty rotation (kinban), it was announced that "although he had traveled up for the first time as a new retainer, he had performed his various official duties no differently from experienced retainers, and this was regarded with favor." He completed one tour of duty and returned.

He was assigned to confidential inner duties (go-nai go-yō).
One entry: 6th month of the same year
In the presence of his lord, he was given one set of formal ceremonial hemp garments (kami-shimo).
One entry: 10th month of Kyōhō 1st year, Year of the Monkey (1716)
He traveled up to Edo as an attendant in the lord's procession to the Shogunate (go-sanpu), serving on duty rotation, and returned in the same 10th month.
However, because he was assigned to make confidential copies (utsushimono) of documents during the tour of duty,

He traveled up to Edo on duty rotation, and in the 4th month of the following Year of the Boar (1719), he served as an attendant in the lord's return procession and came back.

He was assigned to serve as a calligraphy practice companion (otenarai go-yō o-aite) for Lady Gyokurin'in, and on the occasion of the first writing ceremony of the year (o-fudehajime), he presented a model calligraphy copy of the iroha syllabary and five pairs of brushes (with colored hair/bristles), whereupon, in the presence of his lord, various [things were bestowed — text continues on next page].
