大坂からの手紙の抜粋○九月二十八日夜に地震があり、平野橋、箒町、堺橋筋が大きく崩れ、この辺りで多くの人が被害を受けたとのこと。また尾張国名古屋、遠江国浜松でも城下が少し焼けた。これは同時に地震があったためと伝えられている。

江戸の芝居町が焼失した中で残った分として、役者の住宅では坂東修佳の息子吉弥、中村福助、市村羽左衛門、森田勘弥、尾上菊次郎、その他茶屋二、三軒が残っている。

一、土蔵で大きく崩れたもの六万五千七百余棟、少し損傷したもの八万七千二百余棟、焼失したものは数知れず

一、死亡者十三万二千四百人余、負傷者十万一千余人、その他料理屋や宿に通うもの三万一千二百余人

一、新吉原での死亡者千四百三十余人、負傷者二千三百余人である

Excerpts from letters from Osaka ○ On the night of September 28th, there was an earthquake, and Hirano Bridge, Hoki-cho, and Sakai Bridge area collapsed greatly. Many people in this area were harmed. Also in Nagoya in Owari Province and Hamamatsu in Totomi Province, parts of the castle towns burned slightly. This is said to have been due to simultaneous earthquakes.

Among the theater districts of Edo that burned down, the remaining actor residences include those of Bando Shuka's son Kichiya, Nakamura Fukusuke, Ichimura Uzaemon, Morita Kanya, Onoe Kikunojuro, and two or three teahouses that survived.

First, regarding storehouses: those that collapsed greatly numbered over 65,700, those with slight damage numbered over 87,200, and those that burned are countless.

First, the dead numbered over 132,400 people, the injured over 101,000 people, and others frequenting restaurants and inns numbered over 31,200 people.

First, in Shin-Yoshiwara, the dead numbered over 1,430 people, and the injured over 2,300 people.
