## Extract from a Letter Received from Osaka
On the night of the 28th day of the 9th month, an earthquake struck, and the areas around Hiranobashi, Hōkimachi, and Sakaibashi were heavily damaged by collapses. Many people in this vicinity suffered losses. Furthermore, it is reported that the castle towns of Nagoya in Owari Province and Hamamatsu in Tōtōmi Province also suffered some fires. It is conveyed that these [earthquakes] occurred simultaneously [with the Edo earthquake].
