〇御趣意ニ付御家来諸被下半減と先達而被仰出候へ共難渋之儀故末々迄心得方不
参届此節右体ニ相成候而ハ一統心得違ニ相成甚難儀之趣ニ相聞候依之当暮之
儀ハ半減之趣ニ被取計其余ニ減候分ハ夫々役頭之面々致拝借相渡候様被仰出候
間当暮之儀ハ先右之通可被取計候猶又来春ニ相成御国表釣合を以弥半減ニ可
相成候ハヽ拝借之分ハ追而上納可被仰付事候間左様相心得可被取計候

現代語訳
〇御趣意により御家来諸被下（給与）を半減すると先日お達しになられましたが、困窮の事情により末端まで理解が行き届かず、この度このような状況になっては一同が心得違いとなり、甚だ困難な事態になると聞いております。これにより今年の年末については半減の趣旨で取り計らい、その他に減額する分については、それぞれの役頭の面々が拝借して渡すようにお達しになられましたので、今年の年末についてはまずその通りに取り計らうべきです。なお来春になって御国表の釣り合いをもって、いよいよ半減となる場合には、拝借の分については追って上納を申し付けられることになりますので、そのように心得て取り計らうべきです。

〇Regarding the lord's intention to reduce retainers' stipends by half as announced previously, due to financial difficulties, this understanding has not reached the lower ranks properly. If things continue in this manner, it is heard that all will be confused in their understanding, creating a very difficult situation. Therefore, for this year-end, arrangements shall be made according to the principle of half reduction, and for the additional reductions, the respective department heads shall provide loans to cover the difference as ordered. For this year-end, arrangements should first be made accordingly. Furthermore, if next spring the situation in the domain requires the full half reduction to be implemented, the borrowed amounts shall be subject to repayment as will be ordered later. This should be understood and arrangements made accordingly.
