一近年大工とも江戸表へ罷越防之者荒子御船遣江対シ無礼之儀も有之軽も御
指物人ニ候得ハ心得も可有之事ニ候大工之儀ハ御指物人ニ而無之町家之者
ニ候得ハ
其無差別心得候様ニ相見へ申候ニ付則去亥年被仰付も有之候間御作事方へ
罷出候大工とも江戸表へ罷越候大工ともへも向後心得違無之様被仰付候事
一江戸表御国共ニ大工とも上下袴等着用候節者脇指帯之平日者無刀ニ被
仰付候庄屋共ハ是迄之通可相心得候事
但道中筋他国之儀者是迄之通ニ相心得可申候事

現代語訳
川地仁十郎
一、近年大工どもが江戸表へ行き、船遣いなどの荒子に対し無礼な行いもあります。軽くても御指物人であれば心得もあるべきことですが、大工の件は御指物人ではなく町家の者ですので、その無差別の心得のように見受けられるにつき、去る亥年に仰せ付けもありましたので、御作事方へ出仕する大工ども、江戸表へ行く大工どもへも今後心得違いのないよう仰せ付けられることです。
一、江戸表・御国ともに大工どもが上下袴等を着用する節は脇指を帯び、平日は無刀と仰せ付けられます。庄屋どもはこれまでの通り相心得べきことです。
但し、道中筋・他国の件はこれまでの通りに相心得申すべきことです。
五月二十五日

○在方の諸願いの件、筆工に頼んで願書を指し出すにつき、文段の飾りが多く実情が分かりかね、その上百姓どもの費用も過分なことになっていますので、以後筆工に頼む義は止め、不都合でも村人どもが認めるようになれば、万事実体になり然るべきです。もし村人どもが認める義が出来ない場合は、口書同様に役所々々で認めて遣わすよう致すべきことです。

Kawachi Jinjūrō
1. In recent years, carpenters going to Edo have shown disrespect toward young retainers such as boatmen. Even if lightly armed, if they are standard bearers, they should have proper understanding, but since carpenters are not standard bearers but townspeople, they appear to have indiscriminate understanding. Since there was an order in the past year of the boar, it is ordered that carpenters serving at the construction office and those going to Edo should henceforth have no misunderstandings.
1. Both in Edo and in the domain, when carpenters wear formal dress such as hakama, they shall wear wakizashi, but on ordinary days they are ordered to be unarmed. Village headmen should understand this as before.
However, regarding travel routes and other domains, this should be understood as before.

Oda Nihē
○Regarding various petitions from rural areas, since they employ scribes to submit petition documents, the literary embellishments are excessive and the actual situation is difficult to discern. Moreover, the expenses for farmers have become excessive, so henceforth the practice of employing scribes should be stopped. Even if inconvenient, if villagers write them themselves, everything will reflect reality, which would be appropriate. If villagers cannot write them, they should be written at the various offices as with oral statements.

Tsutsumi Yasuemon
1. Even when children of foot soldiers and temple servants are summoned, they should succeed their parents' positions and not establish separate households, as ordered.
However, those whose second sons are summoned after special deliberation may establish separate households.
