In the 11th month of the same year, he was granted a family inheritance of 150 koku of rice stipend without any reduction.
In the 4th month of Bunka 12 (Year of the Monkey), he was appointed to the temporary position of tea and sake regulation supervisor.
In the 12th month of Bunka 5 (Year of the Dragon), he was assigned to travel to Ezo (Hokkaido) for frontier defense duties. He was granted an audience and received official recognition, departing in the 2nd month of the same year.
In the 5th month of the same year, his duties were completed and he returned to his lodgings.
Note: At his previous lodging in Shiokawa village, he was granted sake.
In the 12th month of the same year, when he traveled to Ezo for frontier defense duties, he diligently served for many days, including overseeing sea and land transportation. Having completed all duties without delay and returned completely, the lord was greatly pleased and granted him a meal at the castle.
In the same month, due to the role change of his superior Miyake Magobei, he was assigned to Izawa Shizuma's unit as a replacement.
In the 6th month of Bunka 6 (Year of the Snake), he was ordered to practice the transverse flute, and was granted 2 bu in funding for expenses.
In the 8th month of the same year, having diligently served in Ezo frontier guard duties, he was granted one formal garment as a reward.
