現代語訳
【上段】
三つ目入道は何の手立てもなく逃げてしまったので、帰っても仲間の手前、言い訳のしようがない。そこで工夫して、にわかに思いついたのは、みかんかごに張り抜きで目鼻を描いて、金平の首だと大層に包んで引かせた。入道は左扇で非常に気取った高慢な態度をして立ち帰り、仲間の手下を集めて大言壮語を言い尽くし、「もはや金平を討ち取ったので、もうどなたも心置きなく」（と言った）。
【中段左】
化け物仲間の総大将とは俺のことだ。今まで金平の目に討ち殺された手下の方々の仇を討ったというものだ。エヘン！

【Upper section】

So he devised a plan and suddenly thought of drawing eyes and nose on an orange basket with papier-mâché work, grandly wrapping it up as Kinpira's head and having it carried. The nyudo returned with his left fan, putting on airs with an extremely affected and arrogant attitude, gathered his subordinate companions, and exhaustively boasted, "Now that I have slain Kinpira, everyone can rest easy."
