に漫（まん）ずか所（ところ）よりして心（こゝろ）に叶（かな）ふも者（もの）なくかたはしより刎（はね）つけ皆々（みな〳〵）
お間（あひだ）の始末（しまつ）ながら猶（なほ）あきらめかねて思（おも）ひをこがすものおびたゞし
かり爰（こゝ）に深草（ふかくさ）の少将（しやう〳〵）といへる人（ひと）恋暮（れんぼ）の念（ねん）にしのびかね。じか付（づけ）に
ひた〳〵ト思（おも）ひの丈（たけ）をならへたてゝかき
くどきしに其（その）言葉（ことば）の抜（ぬき）さしならぬ
品（しな）となりさらば今宵（こよひ）よりして百夜（もゝよ）の
間（あひだ）かよひつめてそもじ様（さま）の真実（しんじつ）誠（まこと）を
見（み）せ給ひなば其時（そのとき）こそは御心（みこゝろ）にした

に満足する所がなく、心に叶う者もなく、端から跳ね付けて皆々
お間の始末をしながら、なお諦めきれずに思いを焦がす者が数多く
いた。ここに深草の少将という人が、恋慕の念に堪えきれず、直接に
ひたすら思いの丈を並べ立てて書き
口説いたところ、その言葉が抜き差しならぬ
事態となり、それならば今宵より百夜の
間通い詰めて、あなた様の真実の誠を
見せてくださるなら、その時こそはお心に従い
