○一大石内蔵助儀赤穂表御用相仕廻六月四日切に彼地引払申候
尤妻子は頓に片付申候大学様御安否を見合候内城州山科之
内進藤源四郎代々之名田地有之先達而源四郎山科江住居極候
に付是にたより池田久右衛門と改名いたし妻子一緒に先致安座大学様御
首尾上野介殿様子見合罷在候其外同志之族六拾余人大形は京
都大坂伏見辺に蟄居仕候江戸詰之者之内より同志之者余程有之
江戸之様子一々慥成町飛脚を以致通路候
○一内蔵助山科に居申内存念有之者共彼地江立越又は同志之取次
を以当春於赤穂了簡違に而神文不申候自許心底相違
現代語訳
○一、大石内蔵助は赤穂での御用を済ませ、六月四日限りでその地を引き払った。
もちろん妻子はすぐに片付けた。大学様の安否を見守る間、山城国山科の
内で進藤源四郎が代々持つ名田地があり、先達て源四郎が山科に住居を定めた
ことに付け込んで、これを頼りに池田久右衛門と改名し、妻子一緒にまず安住した。大学様の
首尾、上野介殿の様子を見守っている。その他同志の一族六十余人は大体
京都・大坂・伏見辺りに蟄居している。江戸詰めの者の内からも同志の者がかなりおり、
江戸の様子を一々確実な町飛脚によって連絡を取り合っている。
○一、内蔵助が山科に居る間、志のある者達がその地に出向き、または同志の取次
によって、当春赤穂において考え違いで神文を申さなかった者達の真の心底が違っていた

○ First, Ōishi Kuranosuke completed his official duties at Akō and withdrew from that place definitively on the fourth day of the sixth month.
Naturally, his wife and children were quickly relocated. While watching over the welfare of Daigaku-sama, within Yamashina in Yamashiro Province,
there were prestigious rice fields that Shindō Genshirō's family had owned for generations, and recently Genshirō had established his residence in Yamashina.
Taking advantage of this connection, [Kuranosuke] changed his name to Ikeda Kyūemon and first settled there safely with his wife and children. He is monitoring the
progress of Daigaku-sama and the situation of Kōzuke-no-suke-dono. The other comrades, about sixty people in total, are mostly
living in seclusion around Kyoto, Osaka, and Fushimi. Among those stationed in Edo, there are quite a few comrades,
and they maintain communication about the situation in Edo through reliable town messengers.
○ First, while Kuranosuke was residing in Yamashina, those with resolve visited that place, or through intermediaries among the comrades,
regarding those who, due to a difference in judgment at Akō this past spring, did not sign the sworn oath, their true intentions were different
