被遣候家中騒動不仕候様に急度可申渡旨被仰遣候なり
一上野介殿御喧嘩以後上杉弾正大弼殿近習役人何某と申者上野介殿前
江出直に申候は此度之義不慮之御災難と申なから御前御存命に而は
御為不宜又弾正様之御首尾も如何敷猶不意之御難はかたりかたく
奉存候以愚意憚多申分に而候得共御覚悟を急度御定め御切腹被遊
可然と諫申候処上野介殿以之外立腹に而其方乱心と相見候引立よとの
事に而不及是非罷去候由追付上野介殿より弾正殿江使者を以何某と申もの
推参千万成申分仕候間急度曲事に可被申付候旨具に御申遣候弾正殿

一、十二月十五日暮れ六時過ぎ、畠山民部太輔殿が上使として上杉弾正大弼殿のところへ遣わされ、家中で騒動を起こさないよう厳重に申し渡すべき旨を仰せ遣わされた。
一、上野介殿の喧嘩の後、上杉弾正大弼殿の近習役人で何某という者が上野介殿の前に出て直接申し上げたのは、「この度の件は不慮の御災難とはいえ、御前が御存命でいらっしゃっては御ためによろしくなく、また弾正様の御首尾もいかがなものか。なお不意の御難は計り難く存じ上げます。愚意をもって憚り多い申し分ではございますが、御覚悟を厳重にお定めになり、御切腹なさるのがよろしかろう」と諫言申し上げたところ、上野介殿は非常にお立腹になり、「其方は乱心と見受けられる。引き立てよ」ということで、是非に及ばず退去したということである。やがて上野介殿より弾正殿へ使者をもって、「何某という者が推参千万な申し分をいたしましたので、厳重に曲事として処罰すべき旨」を詳しく御申し遣わされた。弾正殿は

1. On the 15th day of the 12th month, after 6 o'clock in the evening, Lord Hatakeyama Minbu-taisuke was dispatched as an official envoy to Lord Uesugi Danjō-daihitsu, conveying orders that strict instructions should be given to prevent any disturbances within the household retainers.

After the quarrel involving Lord Kōzuke-no-suke, a certain attendant in close service to Lord Uesugi Danjō-daihitsu appeared directly before Lord Kōzuke-no-suke and said: "Although this matter may be called an unexpected disaster, your continued existence is not beneficial for you, and Lord Danjō's situation is also questionable. Furthermore, unexpected difficulties are immeasurable. Though it is presumptuous of me to speak with my humble opinion, it would be proper for you to firmly resolve yourself and commit seppuku." When he remonstrated thus, Lord Kōzuke-no-suke became extremely angry and said, "You appear to be mad. Remove him!" Having no choice, the man withdrew.
