右相済候而方丈江参り各刀のしなへを直し討手を相待わらし
なとはき替申候内蔵助方丈江対面被申夜前は緩々得御意辱
存候然は夜前是に而参会仕候実は夜討之云合仕夫より上野介殿
御宅江押込思ひ之侭に討おゝせ又こそ参上候と申方丈被申候は
扨々不存寄御手便先以各被遂御本望珍重〳〵先々是江御
通り候へとて書院之方江請嘸御方労れ候半と粥出し被申候其砌給仕
之者上野介殿御父子御働いかゝと尋候得は御父子共随分見事
なる御働に而候御家来衆も恥敷からぬ働と申候而兎向之義

四十六人の者が一同に申し上げ終わりました。
右の儀が済みまして、方丈へ参り、各々刀の血のりを拭い清め、討ち手の装いを整え、草履なども履き替え申しました。内蔵助が方丈との対面を申し上げますと、「夜前はゆっくりとお話をうかがい、恐縮に存じます。さて、夜前はこちらでお会いいたしましたが、実は夜討ちの相談をなさって、それから上野介殿の御屋敷へ押し込み、思いのままに討ち果たし、また改めて参上されたのですね」と申しました。方丈が申されるには、「まことに思いがけない御手柄、まずは皆様が御本望を遂げられたこと、珍重なことです。まずはこちらへお通りください」とて、書院の方へお通しになり、「さぞお疲れでしょう」とお粥を出してくださいました。その折、給仕の者が「上野介殿御父子の御働きはいかがでしたか」と尋ねましたところ、「御父子ともに随分見事な御働きでありました。御家来衆も恥ずかしくない働きぶりでした」と申しまして、ともかくその様子は

Please, come this way first," and ushered them toward the reception hall, saying "You must be quite exhausted," and served them rice porridge.
