五六人または百疋宛添へて天晴加勢

現代語訳
いたが、このままでは埒が明かないので、小使いの者を呼び出し、近郷近在の悪い狸たちに催促をかけ、とりわけ徳島の林光寺や庚辛新八郎等へは別に使者を遣わして加勢を頼んだところ、いずれも承知して、手下の狸に一族二十五、六人あるいは百匹ずつを添えて、見事な加勢として出立したのは実に不敵なことであった。
英語訳
they remained there, but since this would lead nowhere, they called forth messengers and urged the wicked tanuki from the nearby villages and surrounding areas to join them. In particular, they sent special envoys to Tokushima's Rinkōji temple and Kōshin Shinhachirou and others, requesting their military assistance. All agreed and set out with their subordinate tanuki, adding twenty-five or twenty-six clan members or a hundred tanuki each as splendid reinforcements - truly a fearless undertaking.
