現代語訳
これまで珍しい大晦日から明けの春まで、その上に風雨の案配よく、五穀成就の受け合いは間違いなし。天に偽りなきものを、と羽衣の謡いにあって、天の事を知り、言わねば長じゃなる、という例えがあるが、「良い天気」と言わねばならぬ。田畑のために二日も降ると、今々しい日和だのと悪態をつくので、お腹を立てなさって、雷神様も焼けを起こし、いつかも要らぬほど降らせなさる。そこで持って天の事は言わぬものなり。なんでもあっちに如才はなし。

From this most unusual New Year's Eve until the dawning spring, with favorable wind and rain conditions throughout, a bountiful harvest is guaranteed. As the song of the celestial maiden states, "Of things truthful in heaven," if one knows of heaven's affairs but does not speak of them, one becomes long-lived - so the saying goes, but one must say "fine weather." When it rains for two days for the sake of the rice fields, people complain about the troublesome weather and speak ill of it, so the Thunder God gets angry and brings down more rain than needed. Therefore, one should not speak of heavenly matters. In any case, there is no lack of tact over there.
