弐分ありとんでもなく高ひ所なれはしつた
者はなし其くせ眼には見へ知れとは
いれどもすこし遠方の事ゆへ御存知の
無ひも至極御尤千ばん作者なとゝ申ものは
なんても委敷承知てなけれはまいらぬもの
是にて万事きついもんたと思召かよし
さりながら数多の事天竺￣トてんちよく位の
間違はいつもの通御用捨【御容赦】あそはし
御一覧奉希候
現代語訳
天の高さは五百七十八万四千丈と一尺三寸二分あるということで、とんでもなく高い所なので、詳しく知っている者はいない。それなのに目には見えて知れているのだが、少し遠方のことなのでご存知ないのも至極もっともである。千番作者などと申すものは、何でも詳しく承知していなければならないものである。これで万事がきついものだとお思いになることであろう。さりながら、数多のことで「天竺」と「てんちょく」程度の間違いはいつもの通りご用捨（ご容赦）くださって、ご一覧いただきたく希望申し上げます。

The height of heaven is said to be 5,784,000 jō, 1 shaku, 3 sun, and 2 bu - an incredibly high place, so no one knows it in detail. Yet it can be seen and known to the eye, but since it is somewhat distant, it is quite reasonable that you may not be familiar with it. Those who call themselves "senban sakusha" (popular fiction writers) must be knowledgeable about everything in detail. You may think this makes everything quite demanding. Nevertheless, among the many things, please forgive the usual mistakes like confusing "Tenjiku" with "tenchoku" and kindly peruse this work.
