現代語訳

お名前を聞いて門へ入り、呼び上げを行うこと

一　旗本様については、お名前の呼び上げは行わないが、お名前をよく承って帳面に記録すること

一　侍従以上の大名様がお越しの節は、番頭が中の横道石から御門の前頃まで出迎える。平大名様に対しては番頭は下座敷を外れて砂子まで進み出る。
　　旗本様に対しては番頭は下座敷の上におり、門番も敷物から少々進み出る程度である。
　　　ただし白い縁の敷物を張り出す場所は、中の道石より手前、大御門の扉を開いた通りから少々番所の方へ寄せて敷物を下番用に敷いておく。外と御門の方を上座とする。御座二枚、下敷き莚同数。御座は二枚長く敷き、下敷き莚は二枚重ね。
　　　これらは御広間で受け取り置き、お渡しいただく。

一　すべて玄関へ参る者については名前を記録しておくこと。ただし《割書：御広間より帳面を渡される》

一　諸家様のご家来または
　　公儀の御家人衆または御坊主衆は、くぐり戸より入って玄関へ通るので、参る人ごとに、どちらへお通りになるか、御使者として参上するかをよく承って呼び上げること

一　三ヶ日の開門中は、御客様がお出でになる節、「御客がお座りになります」との呼び上げは行わない

一　殿様がお帰りの節も、玄関へ御役人様方がお出迎えになる

Listen to the name and enter the gate to announce the visitor.

1. For hatamoto (direct retainers of the shogun), while their names are not announced aloud, their names should be carefully noted and recorded in the register.

1. When daimyo of the rank of jijū (chamberlain) or higher visit, the guard captain should come out from the middle lateral path stone to around the front of the gate to greet them. For regular daimyo, the guard captain should step away from the lower reception area and advance to the gravel area.
　　For hatamoto, the guard captain remains in the upper part of the lower reception area, and the gate guards should only advance slightly from their mats.
　　　However, the white-bordered mats should be laid out in a location from before the middle path stone, slightly toward the guard station from where the great gate doors open, with mats laid for the lower guards. The outer area and gate side are considered the upper seat. Two sitting mats and the same number of under-mats. The sitting mats should be laid lengthwise in pairs, and the under-mats should be doubled.
　　　These items are to be received and kept at the great hall and distributed as instructed.

1. Retainers of various houses, or
　　government retainers or monks enter through the small gate and proceed to the entrance hall, so for each person who comes, carefully inquire which direction they are proceeding and whether they are coming as messengers, then announce them accordingly.

1. During the three days when the gates are open, when guests arrive, do not call out "A guest is seated."

1. When the lord returns, the officials also come out to the entrance hall to greet him.
