○地震之説
径世衍-義￣ニ孔鼂【墨誤カ】￣カ曰￣ク陽伏＿二￣テ于陰下＿一￣ニ見＿レ迫（せまる）＿二￣ヲ于陰＿一￣ニ而不＿レ能＿レ￣ハ升￣ルコト以￣ニ
至＿二￣ル於地震＿一￣ニ と如＿レ此陽気地中に伏して出んとする時陰気に
抑（おさ）へられて出る事能はず地中に激攻（げきこう）して動揺（どうえう）する

ごとし水火の気其中に伏す蓋（けだし）気 噴盈（ふんえい）して舒（のび）んと欲

現代語訳
けれども初めのような大震はない。我が友である広島氏という人は、諸国で大地震に四度遭ったが、皆その国に滞在して始末をよく知っている。小さな揺れは長く続いたけれども、初めのような大きな地震は一度もなかったと申された。これは現在の人による証言として十分である。
○地震の説
経世衍義に孔鼂が言うには「陽が陰の下に伏して、陰に迫られ見えて、昇ることができないために地震に至る」とある。このように陽気が地中に伏して出ようとする時、陰気に押さえられて出ることができず、地中で激しく攻めて動揺するのである。
【注】国語の周語にある伯陽父の言葉なども同様で、古代からみなこの説を言っている。
天経或問に言うには「地は本来気の滓が集まって形質をなす。元気が旋転する中に束ねられているため、兀然として空に浮んで墜ちない。四囲に穴があって相通じている。あるいは蜂の巣のようで、あるいは茸の襞のようである。水火の気がその中に伏している。おそらく気が噴き盈ちて伸びようと欲するが、伸びることができない。人身の筋が転じて脈が揺れるようなものである。また

However, there were no great earthquakes like the initial one. My friend, a person from Hiroshima, encountered great earthquakes four times in various provinces, and having stayed in each of those regions, he knew the circumstances well. While small tremors continued for a long time, there was never again a great earthquake like the first one, he said. This serves as sufficient testimony from a contemporary witness.
○Theories on Earthquakes
In the Keisei En'gi, Kong Chao states: "When yang lies dormant beneath yin and is pressed by yin so that it cannot rise, this leads to earthquakes." Thus, when yang energy lies dormant underground and tries to emerge, it is suppressed by yin energy and cannot escape, causing violent agitation and shaking within the earth.

The Tenkei Wakumon states: "The earth is fundamentally formed by the accumulation of residual matter from qi into physical substance. Being bound within the rotation of primordial qi, it floats majestically in space without falling. There are holes all around that connect with each other, sometimes like a beehive, sometimes like the gills of mushrooms. The qi of water and fire lies dormant within.
