己巳年の夏月に鷲巣氏の庭中で発見
蛅蟖（イラムシ）が巣を作ること小指大
のようで斑がある。雀甕、一名天漿子である。
この蛅蟖は紹興備急本草に俗称
八角蟲と言われている。

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　虫眼鏡で見ると大きさは図の
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　ようである。普通の毛虫と異なることは、その
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　毛が生える所が瘤のように高く起き上がり、
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　サイカチの刺のようなものが一
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　箇所に集まって生える。眼はどこにあ
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　るのか見えない。

Found in the summer month of the year Tsuchinoto-Mi in Mr. Washisu's garden.
The蛅蟖 (caterpillar) builds nests about the size of a little finger
with spots. It is called Jakuō (sparrow jar), also known as Tenshōshi.
This蛅蟖 is referred to in the Shaoxing Beiji Bencao as commonly called
Hakkaku-chū (eight-cornered insect).

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　When observed through a magnifying glass, the size is as
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　shown in the illustration. What differs from ordinary caterpillars is that the
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　places where hair grows rise up high like bumps,
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　and thorn-like projections similar to honey locust spines
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　grow clustered together in one spot. Where the eyes are
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　located cannot be seen.
