て早々 食事（しよくじ）を調（とゝの）へすゝめけるかくて一両日ありて
夫（をつと）松兵衛 帰（かへ）りければ女房（によほう）自（みつか）ら罪（つみ）を悔（くゐ）て泣（なく）〳〵
わびければ夫もさんげに心 解（とけ）て罪をゆるし永（なか）く
夫婦のかたらひをなしふたりの男子（なんし）も生（を）ひ立よく
栄（さか）へけるとぞ此事を誰（たれ）しりていふとなくかたり伝（つた）へ
聞（きゝ）傳へに近郷 遠在（ゑんさい）より参詣（さんけい）引もきらず賑（にぎは）ひ
しとなりわらはが伯 母（ば）稚（おさな）き時 地蔵尊（ぢぞうそん）へ詣（もふで）て

無下（むげ）に賎（いや）しき筋（すじ）にはあらねと事有て夫婦此村

現代語訳

て早々食事を整え勧めた。こうして一両日あって夫の松兵衛が帰ってきたので、女房は自ら罪を悔いて泣きながび詫びたので、夫も懺悔に心を解いて罪を許し、長く夫婦の語らいをなし、二人の男子も成長してよく栄えたということである。この事を誰が知って言うともなく語り伝え聞き伝えに、近郷遠在より参詣が引きも切らず賑わったということになった。私の伯母が幼い時、地蔵尊へお参りして、この村に親しい者があって立ち寄ったところ、折から その松兵衛に居合わせて間近で見たということである。

蛇恩を報ず
