近世の画家たちは、和漢の様々な技法を用いて作品を制作している。
あらゆる事物を細部まで極めて描き、奇を尽くし精を競って
巧みな技を為している。しかしながら筆勢は繊細で弱々しく、
古来の画法を失ってしまった者が少なくない。今ここに江南の
法橋岡田玉山が制作した絵本
『前太平記』がある。衣冠や甲冑を、それぞれに用いて
