Copy of a written notice sent by Lord Inaba Mino-no-kami through Kyōgawa Ya to the castle retainers on a single sheet:
Those who have contributed御用金 (emergency funds) this time shall receive金札 (monetary certificates) according to the amount of their contribution. These金札 shall be accepted as equivalent to regular gold and silver currency until March of the year after next (Tsuchinoto-mi year), and may be used for annual rice tax payments and other various tribute payments without issue. As it has been announced that these shall circulate without hindrance in both the府内 (Edo) and the関東在方 (Kantō rural areas), there must be no misunderstanding. From March of the year after next, these can be exchanged for actual gold and silver currency at Mitsui Hachirōemon's establishment. There will be no reduction in exchange rates for this exchange, so transactions must be conducted with proper oversight.
This directive is to be announced throughout all御料 (shogunal lands),私領 (private domains), and寺社領 (temple and shrine lands) in the Kantō region without omission.
