道具類が粉々になって川一面に押し流されました。特に人の死骸や馬なども同様に切れ切れになって大量に流れ通っております。夜五つ時過ぎになって流れ物が減り、それから止まりました。
右の通り、東葛飾郡西領金町村名主勘蔵が訴え出ました。
七月
上州桐生村の善右衛門・嘉兵衛方より江戸通弐丁目白木屋出店紙店にて、白木屋庄右衛門方へ届いた書状の写しは左の通りです。
一、当七月二日夜六つ時頃、信州浅間山が鳴り出し、砂が少々降り、天が赤く黒くなり朧月夜のようになりました。同七日も右の通りでございましたが、四つ時頃から泥雨のように降り、鳴り音は雷のようで、八つ時頃に至り地震のように闇が甚だしく、皆々家内にいる者は途方に暮れて倒れ臥し、或いは念仏などを唱えておりました。
一、当所から高崎へ十里、伊勢崎へ五里、前橋へ七里

Household goods were smashed to pieces and swept away across the entire river. In particular, human corpses and horses were also torn apart and flowed through in great numbers. After the fifth hour of the night (around 9 PM), the flowing debris decreased and then stopped.

From Zenuemon and Kaheē of Kiryū Village in Jōshū Province, a copy of a letter that arrived at the Shirokiya paper shop branch on Edo-dōri 2-chōme, addressed to Shirokiya Shōuemon, reads as follows:
Item 1: On the night of the 2nd day of this seventh month, around the sixth hour (midnight), Mount Asama in Shinshū Province began rumbling, sand fell lightly, the sky turned red and black like a hazy moonlit night. On the 7th day, the same conditions continued, but from around the fourth hour (10 AM), mud-like rain began falling, the rumbling sound was like thunder, and by the eighth hour (2 PM), it became as dark as during an earthquake. Everyone staying indoors was at their wit's end, some collapsed, while others chanted Buddhist prayers.
Item 1: From this location, it is ten ri to Takasaki, five ri to Isesaki, and seven ri to Maebashi.
