現代語訳

砂に埋まってしまいました。しかしその間、雨は一滴も降りませんでした。
八日の午後二時頃、利根川に石や泥水が流れ、大石が火を燃やしながら流れ、川中一面に煙が立ち上って陰のように押し上げました。
そのため当宿場と五料宿の間の川の通行が止まり、日光街道の往来も止まりました。三国街道も同様で道路が通行止めになったため、恐れながら宿場の代表として訴え申し上げます。

昨日九日の午後二時頃から江戸川の水が波のようになり、どこから流れてきたのか分からないが、根の付いた立木が打ち折られて多くの人家の道に

[The crops] were buried in sand. However, during this time, not a single drop of rain fell.
On the 8th, around 2 PM, stones and muddy water flowed down the Tone River, with large stones flowing while on fire, and smoke rose across the entire river surface, pressing upward like shadows.
Due to this, river crossings between our post station and Goryō post station were stopped, and traffic on the Nikkō Highway was also halted. The Mikuni Highway was similarly affected, with roads being closed, so we humbly submit this petition as representatives of the post station.
