[The copyist of this book, Doi Toshiyuki, was a shogunal retainer and expert in warrior house customs. His common names were Teijirō and Chikara no Suke.]
[His father was the shogunal retainer Doi Toshioki (a different person from the lord of Nishio Domain despite sharing the same name).]
[Born in Hōreki 4 (1754). In An'ei 7 (1778), he became a Saijō御書院番士 (a member of the shogun's personal guard).]
[In Kansei 2 (1790), he served at the main castle. In the same year, he inherited the family headship. His stipend was 200 koku with 200 hyō of rice allowance.]
[He was an expert in warrior house customs under Ise Sadatake and was skilled in Heki-ryū archery. His year of death is unknown.]
