奈良県下十津川地方変災実況之図

⑴ 是は今回の変災中尤も惨状を極めたる林村近傍山崩の実況
にて十津川の本流の一時棄塞せられしは此崩壊の為めにして尚
二里の川上迄逆流し高津、上野地、谷瀬。宇宮原の各村は悉く七
八十間以下の水又は土中に在り即ち(イ)印は林村(ロ)印は上野
地村(ハ)印はツンボ茶屋辺夫の玉置郡長の死せし所なり
⑵ 是は水中に沈める谷瀬村の実況にして地面より水上まで凡
六七十間ありといふ
⑶ 是は壚【？】野近傍山崩の為め天の川の流を塞ぎ一時湖水となり
し実況なり之が為め天の川の下流は凡三時間許于川となれりと
いふ
⑷ 是は辻堂村の上に在る八谷村及辻堂村山崩の実況なり初め
山の鳴動して崩壊の兆あるや若し八谷村の山崩懐すれば其下に
在る辻堂村は共に土中のものとなるべしとて八谷村の者は皆難
を外に避んとすると同時に急を辻堂村に告げしめたる時は巳に
数十丁の山上より崩壊し来りし時にして八谷村は勿論辻堂村も
均しく土中に埋もり人も家も一の全きを得るものなきの惨状を
呈するに至りしなり辻堂村は人家廿八戸あり此辺にて小市の形
をなし郵便局もありし所なりしが只寺一箇のみ残し其他は皆無
となれり
⑸ 是は高津村の水中に在る実況なり北村に高津の宮とて道路
の右手小高き岡の上に一の神社あり其社前に樅の大木あり今は
水面僅に尺余を現はすのみ
⑹ 是は被害地に於て被害人民が警官及び慈善者の慈恵に依り
一命を全うせし状を写せしなり
⑺ 是は十津川郷被害地中の凡五分一の図なり此内(イ)印は壚【？】

⑴ これは今回の災害の中で最も悲惨な状況となった林村付近の山崩れの実際の様子である。十津川の本流が一時的に堰き止められたのは、この崩壊のためであり、さらに2里（約8km）川上まで逆流し、高津、上野地、谷瀬、宇宮原の各村はことごとく70～80間（約127～145m）以下の水中または土中に埋まっている。すなわち（イ）印は林村、（ロ）印は上野地村、（ハ）印はツンボ茶屋付近で、玉置郡長が亡くなった場所である。
⑵ これは水中に沈んだ谷瀬村の実際の様子で、地面から水面まで約60～70間（約109～127m）あるという。
⑶ これは壺野付近の山崩れのため天の川の流れが塞がれ、一時的に湖となった実際の様子である。このため天の川の下流は約3時間ほど干上がったという。
⑷ これは辻堂村の上にある八谷村及び辻堂村の山崩れの実際の様子である。初め山が鳴動して崩壊の兆候があった時、もし八谷村の山が崩壊すれば、その下にある辻堂村は共に土中に埋まってしまうだろうということで、八谷村の人々は皆災難を避けようと外に逃れると同時に、急いで辻堂村に知らせたが、その時はすでに数十町（約3～4km）の山上から崩壊が始まっており、八谷村はもちろん辻堂村も等しく土中に埋もれ、人も家も一つとして無事なものがないという悲惨な状況となった。辻堂村は28戸の民家があり、この辺りで小さな市場の形をなし、郵便局もあった場所であったが、ただ寺一つのみを残し、その他はすべて無くなってしまった。
⑸ これは高津村が水中にある実際の様子である。北村に高津の宮といって、道路の右手の小高い丘の上に神社があり、その社前に樅の大木があったが、今は水面からわずか1尺余り（約30cm）を現すのみとなっている。
⑹ これは被災地において被災者が警察官及び慈善家の援助により命を救われた様子を描いたものである。
⑺ これは十津川郷の被災地のうち約5分の1を図示したものである。この中で（イ）印は壺野、（ロ）印は辻堂村、（ハ）印は長殿、（ニ）印は宇宮原、（ホ）印は上野地、（ヘ）印は林村の位置である。

⑴ This shows the actual conditions of the landslide near Hayashi Village, which suffered the most devastating damage in this disaster. The main stream of the Totsukawa River was temporarily dammed due to this collapse, causing backflow for about 2 ri (approximately 8 km) upstream. The villages of Takatsu, Uenoji, Tanise, and Umiyahara were all submerged under water or buried under soil at depths of 70-80 ken (approximately 127-145 meters) or more. Mark (イ) indicates Hayashi Village, mark (ロ) indicates Uenoji Village, and mark (ハ) indicates the area around Tsunbo Teahouse, where District Chief Tamaki died.
⑵ This shows the actual conditions of Tanise Village submerged underwater, with approximately 60-70 ken (about 109-127 meters) from ground level to the water surface.
⑶ This shows the actual conditions when the Ten-no-gawa River was blocked by landslides near Tsubono, temporarily forming a lake. As a result, the downstream portion of the Ten-no-gawa River reportedly dried up for about three hours.
⑷ This shows the actual conditions of the landslides at Hachitani Village, located above Tsujido Village, and Tsujido Village itself. Initially, when the mountain began rumbling with signs of collapse, people thought that if Hachitani Village's mountain collapsed, Tsujido Village below would also be buried under soil. While the people of Hachitani Village all tried to flee from the disaster and simultaneously rushed to warn Tsujido Village, the collapse had already begun from several dozen cho (3-4 km) up the mountain. Both Hachitani Village and Tsujido Village were equally buried under soil, creating a tragic situation where neither people nor houses remained intact. Tsujido Village had 28 households and formed a small market center in the area, even having a post office, but only one temple remained while everything else was completely destroyed.
⑸ This shows the actual conditions of Takatsu Village underwater. In Kitamura, there was a shrine called Takatsu-no-miya on a small hill to the right of the road, with a large fir tree in front of the shrine. Now only about one shaku (approximately 30 cm) of the tree is visible above the water surface.
⑹ This depicts how disaster victims in the affected areas had their lives saved through the assistance of police officers and charitable individuals.
⑺ This illustrates approximately one-fifth of the disaster-affected areas in Totsukawa-go. Within this area, mark (イ) indicates Tsubono, mark (ロ) indicates Tsujido Village, mark (ハ) indicates Osadono, mark (ニ) indicates Umiyahara, mark (ホ) indicates Uenoji, and mark (ヘ) indicates the location of Hayashi Village.
