東西御門所に有之御定書
正徳《割書：甲｜》午年四月 御門改帳御門番組之者勤方之事
御門出入之覚
一御客衆御通り之節御先江立下々道をよけさせ無礼不仕様に可申付候尤御旗本中
御家中之長屋へ御見舞之節先へ立案内仕下々無礼無之様可致事
一侍中御使者は格別私用にて暮六ツ時以後罷出不申筈自然無據急用有之罷越候
節は奏者番中江相達差図次第罷通り申筈尤其節御目付中ゟ御門へ断之上

附御徒以下役人も右同前之事
一御小姓中は御小姓目付【二字見消】【部屋坊主 水玉】断にて可罷通候前髪無之面々御使者に罷出候は格別

御門出入之覚
一、御客衆がお通りになる際は、お先に立って下々に道をよけさせ、無礼を働かないよう申し付けること。もっとも御旗本中や御家中の長屋へお見舞いの節は、先に立って案内をし、下々が無礼をしないよう取り計らうこと。
一、侍中の御使者は格別として、私用にて暮れ六つ時（午後6時頃）以後に外出してはならない。もし自然やむを得ない急用があって外出する場合は、奏者番中に相談して指図に従って通ること。もっともその際は御目付中から御門へ断りの上、御門を通すこと。
附：御徒以下の役人も右同様のこと。
一、御小姓中は御小姓目付の断りにて通ることができる。前髪のない者が御使者として外出するのは格別である。
但し、御貸馬がなく御使者の体をなしていない時は、御目付中の断りを受けて通ること。
一、御貸馬一疋に御中間二人の外は、無断では外出してはならないこと。
一、夜に入り六つ以後に侍中が御使者として外出する場合は、奏者番中の断りの上にて通ること。御徒

Records of Gate Entry and Exit
1. When honored guests pass through, [guards] shall go ahead and make the lower classes clear the way, and ensure that no discourtesy is committed. Especially when visiting the barracks of the hatamoto or house retainers for condolence calls, they shall go ahead to guide and ensure that the lower classes commit no discourtesy.
1. Regarding samurai messengers, except for official business, they shall not go out after the sixth hour of evening (around 6 PM) for private matters. If there is naturally unavoidable urgent business requiring them to go out, they shall consult with the announcer-duty officials and follow their instructions to pass through. In such cases, they must obtain permission from the inspector officials to the gate before being allowed to pass.
Addition: The same applies to foot soldiers and officials of lower rank.
1. Pages may pass through with permission from the page inspector. It is exceptional for those without forelocks to go out as messengers.
However, when there is no borrowed horse available and they do not have the appearance of a messenger, they must receive permission from the inspector officials to pass through.
1. Except for one borrowed horse with two attendants, no one may go out without permission.
