上使并御客之事
【朱追記】明和六丑年御参勤ゟ如此被仰付
一上使并御三家様御三卿様其外筑前守様被為入候節御玄関正面に相詰御通之節

御横之方板之間へ罷出尤御徒頭と一所に可罷在事熨斗目麻上下
一御老中御招請之節右同断のしめ麻上下
一御老中方御招請之節諸事見廻り取計可申候且又御楽屋へ御能役者大勢入込
候に付見廻り火之元可申付其外御料理席々見廻り之事
一右同断御老中方若年寄中御退出之様子附人申付置注進可申達事
一享保十八丑十二月九日於江戸表御目付渥美新右衛門へ御意被遊候は御客馬有之節御目付も御厩へ相詰候哉と御尋被遊
候に付只今迄は相詰不申由申上候処此以後御厩入り之為壱人ツヽ相詰候様にと被仰付其外御役人共儀は相詰には及不申候へ共
御馬拝見望に候はゝ罷出候様にとの御意有之旨 右十日立飛脚に申来由御国十六日之留に有之
一寛保元酉十一月八日之留先達て御老中御招請之節御持足軽上下着候由委細願筋之儀留有之

一、上使並びに御三家様、御三卿様、その他筑前守様がお入りになる節は、御玄関正面に詰めて、お通りの節は

御横の方の板の間へ出て、もっとも御徒頭と一緒にいること。熨斗目麻上下着用。
一、御老中御招きの節も右同様。のしめ麻上下着用。
一、御老中方御招きの節は諸事見回りを取り計らうこと。また御楽屋へ御能役者が大勢入り込むにつき見回り、火の元を申し付けること。その他御料理席々の見回りのこと。
一、右同様、御老中方、若年寄中御退出の様子、付人を申し付け置いて注進を申し達すること。
一、享保十八丑十二月九日、江戸表において御目付渥美新右衛門へ御意を遊ばされたのは、「御客馬がある節、御目付も御厩へ詰めるのか」とお尋ね遊ばされたにつき、「今まではお詰め申さない」旨申し上げたところ、「この以後、御厩入りのため一人ずつ詰めるように」と仰せ付けられた。その他御役人共のことは詰めるには及ばないが、御馬拝見を望むのであれば出るように、との御意があった旨。右十日立飛脚に申し来た由、御国十六日の留にあり。
一、寛保元酉十一月八日の留。先達て御老中御招きの節、御持足軽が上下を着た由、委細願い筋の儀の留があり。

Regarding Imperial Envoys and Guests
【Red addendum】From the sankin-kotai attendance in Meiwa 6 (1769), Year of the Ox, such orders were given
1. When imperial envoys, the Three Houses (Gosanke), the Three Lords (Gosankyo), and others such as Chikuzen-no-kami enter, [officials] shall be stationed at the front of the main entrance, and when they pass through:

[Officials] shall go out to the board room on the side, and of course must be present together with the captain of foot soldiers (otsugarashira). [They shall wear] noshime hemp kamishimo.

1. When invited by the roju, all matters shall be overseen and managed. Also, since many noh performers enter the music room, patrols shall be conducted and fire precautions ordered. Additionally, patrols of the various dining areas.

On the 9th day of the 12th month of Kyoho 18 (1733), Year of the Ox, at Edo, the lord inquired of Inspector (metsuke) Atsumi Shinemon: "When there are guest horses, do the inspectors also stay at the stables?" When [Atsumi] replied that "until now, we have not stayed there," he was ordered that "from now on, one person at a time shall be stationed for stable duty." Regarding other officials, while they need not be stationed there, if they wish to view the horses, they may come out, such was the lord's intention. This was reported by express courier on the 10th, recorded in the domain records of the 16th.
