○小石川水戸殿は大破損。若年寄某並びに軍学師戸田忠太夫、家老藤田誠之進その外家士百五十三人、侍女四十九人が即死した。怪我人の数は知ることができない。
○御歯科医師小川町一ツ橋通高二百石佐藤道安殿は、その日小石川辺の御旗本へ参られ、帰宅して間もなく地震が起こり、用人部屋より出火して潰れた家に移り、当主及び妻子九人、用人斎川某とも皆潰れて焼死した。幸いに逃れることができたのは中間三人のみということである。これにより去る丑年に子細があって家出していた子息道祐が家に帰って跡を相続した。右の家にて上下十七人が焼死し、同四日一時に葬送を営んだ。

○小普請高二千五百石小川町田沼市左衛門殿は夫婦が寝入っていた処、地震に驚いて起き出ようとした時、住居がすべて潰れ、夫婦共に即死した。家士男女二十五人が死に、屋敷は残らず焼けた。
○役小普請高百五十俵同所福山某は、この夜妾の岩女と一室にいて、その妻は子息十蔵と別室にいたが、地震の際寝入って知らなかったのであろうか、各々そのまま潰れて死んだ。中間・下女四人即死、その上類焼である。その中で用人畑某は不思議に命が助かったということである。
○大番組頭高二百五十石小日向和田勝太郎殿は地震に驚いて起き出ようとされたが、梁が落ちて背に負いかかり、右の腕を打ち折ったが、剛気の人にて漸く梁その外を跳ね返して危難を脱れたれども、今にその疵が痛んで耐え難いと聞いた。

○The Mito residence at Koishikawa suffered major damage. A certain wakadoshiyori (junior councilor), military strategist Toda Chūdayū, chief retainer Fujita Seinoshin, and 153 other retainers, plus 49 female attendants died instantly. The number of injured cannot be known.
○The dental physician Satō Dōan (200 koku stipend, Ogawa-chō Hitotsubashi-dōri) had visited a hatamoto residence in the Koishikawa area that day. Shortly after returning home, the earthquake occurred and a fire broke out from the steward's quarters, spreading to the collapsed house. The master, his wife and nine children, and steward Saikawa all perished in the collapse and fire. Only three attendants were fortunate enough to escape. Because of this, his son Dōyū, who had left home the previous year of the ox due to certain circumstances, returned to inherit the family. Seventeen people of high and low rank died by fire in this house, and funeral services were held for all on the same fourth day.

○Tanuma Ichizaemon (ko-bushín rank, 2,500 koku stipend, Ogawa-chō) and his wife were sleeping when they were startled by the earthquake and tried to get up, but their entire residence collapsed and both husband and wife died instantly. Twenty-five male and female retainers died, and the entire residence burned down.
○Fukuyama (yaku-ko-bushin rank, 150 hyō stipend, same location) was in a room with his concubine Iwa-onna that night, while his wife was in a separate room with their son Jūzō. Perhaps they were sleeping and unaware during the earthquake - each died crushed as they were. Four attendants and maids died instantly, and there was also fire damage. Among them, steward Hata somehow miraculously survived.
○Wada Katsutarō (ōban-gashira rank, 250 koku stipend, Ko-Hinata) was startled by the earthquake and tried to get up, but a beam fell and struck his back, breaking his right arm. Being a man of strong spirit, he managed to push away the beam and other debris and escaped danger, but I heard that his wound still causes unbearable pain.
