櫓を上娼家の僑居(カリタク)もかへつて賑ひを増し程なく旧里に新宅を建

場をひらき男女老稚こゝに輻輳し四月より総州柴山なる那羅延密迹

市民は家産を失って困窮に迫られることが多かったが、わずかな間に都の
繁昌は以前に復し、次第に家屋の造作も完成したので、貴賤それぞれの身分に応じて商売を
励み、歳時の営み・花月の遊賞も昔と変わらず、三座の劇場も普請が成って
櫓を上げ、遊郭の仮住まいもかえって賑わいを増し、程なく元の場所に新宅を建て
て元の年に立ち戻った。今年丁巳の春は大坂の早竹虎吉の軽業が両国橋畔に興行
場を開き、男女老若がここに集まり、四月からは総州柴山にある那羅延・密迹
の二王尊が回向院で開帳があり、僧俗の参詣が絶えず、境内は錐を立てる場所も
ない。十月は湯島聖廟の祭礼が二十年目で練り物を出して遠近の見物客が
ここに群集し、朝鮮人は初めて江戸城に参上し、その日の見物は麻布から飯田町まで
の間、大通りに人々が隙間なく立ち並び、顔と顔で壁を作るほどである。その他の繁昌は筆では尽くせない。四民が

The townspeople had their family assets depleted and were often pressed by hardship, but in a short time the capital's
prosperity was restored to its former state. As house construction gradually was completed, people of all ranks pursued their trades
according to their station, seasonal activities and appreciation of flowers and moon continued as before, the three theaters completed their construction and raised their
towers, and the temporary quarters of the pleasure quarters actually increased in liveliness. Soon new houses were built in their original locations and
they returned to normal by the following year. This spring of the Year of the Fire Snake (Teishi), the acrobat Hayatake Torakichi from Osaka opened a performance
venue near Ryōgoku Bridge, where men and women, young and old gathered. From the fourth month, the two guardian kings Naraen and Misshaku
from Shibayama in Sōshū province held a temple exhibition at Ekōin, with constant visits from monks and laypeople, and the temple grounds had no space
to stick a needle. In the tenth month, the festival of Yushima Seidō was held for the twentieth time with parade floats, and sightseers from far and near
gathered here in crowds. Koreans visited Edo Castle for the first time, and the spectators on that day formed
continuous crowds along the main roads from Azabu to Iidamachi, standing face to face like a wall. Other signs of prosperity cannot be exhausted by the brush. The four classes of people
