皆勤したため、御褒美として御時服一着を
下賜された事
一、天明七年未年四月、四十六年間御城御
番を皆勤したため、御褒美として御上下一具を

一、同年七月、養子新次郎が先達て病
死したため、斎藤益蔵の二男与八郎を婿養
子にしたい旨を伺い願い出た事
一、寛政元年酉年六月、頭の生駒内蔵助が
御役御免となったため、跡役として井深監物組に移った

一、同四年子年十二月、御城御番を五十年
余り怠りなく勤め、稀な者であるため、御褒美として
御召古御小袖一着を下賜された事

死、法名実翁淳真居士、葬所は同上

he served with perfect attendance and was awarded one formal costume (jifuku) as a reward.
1. In the 7th year of Tenmei, year of the Sheep (1787), 4th month: Having served castle guard duty with perfect attendance for forty-six years, he was awarded one formal dress set (jōge) as a reward.
2. In the same year, 7th month: Since his adopted son Shinjirō had died of illness some time before, he petitioned to make Yohachirō, the second son of Saitō Masuzō, his son-in-law and adopted heir.
3. In the 1st year of Kansei, year of the Rooster (1789), 6th month: Due to his superior Ikoma Kuranosuke being relieved of his duties, he was transferred to Ibuka Kenmotsu's unit as a successor position.
4. In the same 4th year, year of the Rat (1792), 12th month: Having served castle guard duty for over fifty years without negligence, being a rare individual, he was awarded one used formal kosode garment as a reward.
5. In the same 5th year, year of the Ox (1793), 5th month, 29th day: He died of illness at the age of seventy-three. His posthumous Buddhist name was Jitsuō Junshin Koji, buried in the same location as above.
