現代語訳

安楽公主の新宅での宴に侍して応制す
蘇頲

駸々たる羽騎が城池を経て、帝女の楼台は夕暮れに向かって開かれる。
露が旌旗に降り注いで雲外に出で、風が岩峡を廻って雨中に移る。
軒に当たって半ば落つる天河の水、径を遶って全く低るる月樹の枝。
簫鼓の宸遊、宴に陪する日、和鳴する双鳳の来儀を喜ぶ。

駸々とは馬が足を揃えて早く進むこと。羽騎は弓矢を負う御先供である。中宗が御幸なさるので馬足を早めて、先供が御城の池の傍を通り過ぎてくる。帝女（安楽公主）も楼台を夕方に向かって開いて待ち構えている。二句目に「向晩」の字があるゆえ、雨を露と言ったものと見える。小雨が降り注ぐから、立て並べた旌旗も湿って雲の外にひらひらと出て見える。風が岩峡の道を廻って、雨の降る中を段々先へ移る。五六句の「落」「低」の字が雨の景色を帯びて見える。軒に当たって見える滝は、半ば落ちるような天河の水が一つになって、天河で自然と織女のことを含んでいる。庭の小径を廻って、全く雨が降り重くなって垂れて見える月中にある桂樹の枝を見るようで、これも月中に仙女の居ることを含んでいる。天河水と月樹枝で、山水の凡境にないことを言ったものである。簫や太鼓の音楽で天子の宸遊がご機嫌よく賑やかに、群臣も御宴に陪従する今日、公主の御夫婦仲もよろしく容儀正しくおられるのは、和らかに鳴き始める雌雄の鳳凰が羽を揃えて美しく来る容儀の有様のようなことで、喜び申し上げる。「簫」と「鳳」の二字で、秦の弄玉仙女の事もどことなく含んである。

Swift cavalry horses traverse the castle moats, the imperial daughter's towers open toward evening.
Dew sprinkles the banners emerging beyond the clouds, wind circles the rocky gorges moving through rain.
Against the eaves, celestial river water half-falls, around the path, moon-tree branches hang completely low.
On this day of pipes and drums for the imperial excursion and banquet attendance, we rejoice at the harmonious singing of paired phoenixes coming in ceremony.

"Swift and steady" refers to horses advancing quickly with coordinated steps. The "feathered cavalry" are the advance guards bearing bows and arrows. As Emperor Zhongzong makes his imperial visit, the horses quicken their pace, and the advance guard passes by the castle's moat. The imperial daughter (Princess Anle) also opens her towers toward evening, waiting in preparation. Since the second line contains the characters "toward evening," it appears that rain is referred to as "dew." Light rain falls and sprinkles, so the banners standing in rows become moist and appear fluttering beyond the clouds. Wind circles around the rocky gorge paths, gradually moving forward through the falling rain. The characters "fall" and "low" in the fifth and sixth lines seem to carry the atmosphere of rain. The waterfall visible against the eaves appears like celestial river water half-falling, unified as one, naturally containing allusions to the Weaving Girl through the celestial river. Circling the garden paths, with rain falling heavily and drooping, it's like seeing the branches of cassia trees in the moon - this also contains allusions to immortal maidens dwelling in the moon. Through "celestial river water" and "moon-tree branches," this describes scenery beyond the ordinary realm of mountains and waters. With the music of pipes and drums, the Son of Heaven's imperial excursion is pleasantly lively, and on this day when court officials attend the imperial banquet, the princess and her husband's harmonious relationship and proper deportment is like the beautiful sight of male and female phoenixes beginning to sing harmoniously, arriving with wings aligned - we offer our congratulations. The two characters "pipes" and "phoenix" subtly contain allusions to the immortal maiden Nongyu of Qin.
