現代語訳
朝比奈は小人島の細字と大人国の大字で損金を埋めた。その成功で高島は番頭にして、使い走りに穴のある人は牢人にして手代となし、小人島も雑用のかからないものゆえ小僧の代わりに使い、大人国はどうしても着物から第一置き場所に困り、あまり得にならない代物ゆえ路用金を与えて国へ帰し、結果として儲けというのは、にょうごの島と黒んぼうの女の二人を妾にして、何か面白そうな春を迎えた。
朝比奈は二人の妾に左右の髭を抜かせ、悠々閑々たる風情である。

英語訳
Asahina recovered his losses through the fine calligraphy of Kojin-shima and the large characters of the Giant Country people. With this success, he made Takashima his chief clerk, employed the people with holes as ronin-turned-assistants, used Kojin-shima as an errand boy since they required no miscellaneous expenses, but found the Giant Country people troublesome—starting with their clothing and the difficulty of finding places for them to stay. Since they proved unprofitable, he gave them travel money and sent them back to their country. In the end, his profit was having two mistresses: a woman from Nyogo Island and a black woman, welcoming what seemed like an interesting spring.
Asahina had his two mistresses pluck the whiskers from both sides of his face, presenting a leisurely and relaxed appearance.
