Item: At my residence in Takada, Echigo Province, from around the hour of the boar on the 24th, due to the great earthquake,
residential quarters within the castle, gates, turrets, and enclosing walls were damaged. Retainer residences, castle town,
domain villages had extensive collapsed houses, with injuries to people and horses. On the Hokuriku
highway, there were collapses and cave-ins in various places, as reported from my territory. Detailed
matters will be reported later. First, this matter is hereby reported. The above.
