相止兼候同廿九日晦日夕両三度騒震手遠村方之儀は
相わかり兼候得共城下町々尚又潰家等数多其上
近辺山上より巌石夥敷崩れ落且兼て申上置候犀
川堪留め候場所之義は更科郡之内安庭村山平村
両村辺岩倉山と申高山半面両端崩れ壱ケ所は
三拾町程壱ケ所は五拾間程之間川中へ押入れ其辺
押うづほれ候村方も有之然る処多く巌石之儀に付
迚も水勢にては押切兼候様子に候依之水堪七八丈にも
可及右に付数ケ村水中に相成其辺湖水体に御座候
勿論種々手当に申付置候得共大山殊に巌石押入候
義に付其分にては行届兼候且又川中島平地之者共は

止むことができず、同二十九日晦日の夕方に両三度騒震し、手遠い村々の儀は分かりかねるが、城下町々においてなお又潰家等数多く、その上近辺の山上より岩石夥しく崩れ落ち、且つかねて申し上げ置き候犀川の堪留めの場所の儀は、更科郡の内安庭村山平村両村辺の岩倉山と申す高山の半面両端が崩れ、一ヶ所は三十町程、一ヶ所は五十間程の間川中へ押し入れ、その辺り押し埋もれ候村方もこれ有り。然る処多くの岩石の儀に付き、とても水勢にては押し切りかね候様子に候。これに依り水堪七八丈にも及ぶべし。右に付き数ヶ所水中に相成り、その辺りは湖水の体に御座候。
勿論種々手当に申し付け置き候えども、大山殊に岩石押し入り候儀に付き、その分にては行き届きかね候。且つ又川中島平地の者共は、右の堪水何方へ押し出し候や計り難く、驚き脚し山手の方へ罷在候。丹波島宿の者共も同様の儀にて、人馬継立候儀出来兼ね申候。尚又種々手当申し付け置き候えども、先ずこの段御届け申し上げ候。以上

Regarding the matter of the Sai River dam that was previously reported, in the area of Aniwa Village and Yamahira Village within Sarashina District, both ends of the half-face of the high mountain called Iwakura-yama collapsed - one location for about 30 chō, and one location for about 50 ken - pushing into the river, and there are village areas that have been buried and submerged in that vicinity. However, due to the large amount of rock, it appears that the water flow alone cannot wash it away. As a result, the water level may rise to seven or eight jō. Due to this, several locations have become submerged, and that area resembles a lake.
Of course, various measures have been ordered, but because of the large mountain and especially the rocks that have pushed in, these measures are insufficient. Moreover, the people of the Kawanakajima flatlands cannot predict where this dammed water will burst out, so they have fled in alarm to the mountain areas.
