Manji 3rd Year, Kanoe-Ne (1660)
1. On New Year's Day (1st day of the 1st month), the formal New Year's celebration ceremony was held in the inner audience chamber of the main castle keep. The chief retainers (karō) and administrative officials (goyōnin) presented sword catalogs, offered their respects, received ceremonial sake cups, and were granted seasonal delicacies. Subsequently, in the inner study, Honda Minbu Shigekata presented a sword catalog, offered his respects, received a ceremonial sake cup, and was granted seasonal delicacies. In the outer study, Takachi and others, including gate guards and auxiliary personnel, presented sword catalogs, offered their respects, received ceremonial sake cups, and were granted seasonal delicacies. In the great hall, the military commanders (mono-gashira) and messengers (tsukai-ban), along with the study guards (shoin-ban) from the 1st to 4th units, the great guards (ō-ban) from the 1st to 6th units, and the castle guards (rusu-ban) from the 1st to 6th units
