なお、引き続きご機嫌よくお過ごしのこととお慶び申し上げます。年始のご挨拶等も段々と済まされ、恐縮ながらお慶びのことと存じます。また、吉良上野介がそちらへ年頭の上使を仰せ付けられ、近日中に出発することになっております。お宮方への献上物等についても、例年通りの準備をお申し付けおき願います。以上。
去る三日のお手紙を拝見いたしました。寒気が厳しい折ですが、公方様にはますますお元気でいらっしゃり、お食事等もよくお召し上がりになっておりますので、ご安心ください。そちらの様子に変わったことはございません。
禁裏・院中におかれましても、いよいよご安全との由、恐縮ながらお慶びのことです。また、上臈御局准后の件についてお知らせいただき、詳細を承知いたしました。この件については後日申し入れさせていただきます。
次に、あなた様におかれましても、いよいよお変わりなくお勤めのこと、貴重に存じます。こちらも皆無事に過ごしております。以上。

We have read your letter of the third day past. Though the cold is severe, His Lordship the Shogun is in increasingly good health and is eating well, so please be at ease. There is nothing unusual to report from here.
We are pleased to report that the Imperial Palace and Court continue to remain safe and secure. Regarding the matter of the court lady's appointment to quasi-empress status that you mentioned, we have understood the details. We will communicate further about this matter at a later time.
As for yourself, we are gratified that you continue to serve faithfully without incident. All here are also well. The above.
