これは身のおもひをのべたる也

まへかたうい世ぞと思ひし時分が
今では恋しいとなり 清

現代語訳
【右丁】
今となっては、生き長らえていれば、また「この頃が恋しい」と思われることがあるだろうか。以前は辛いと見ていたのに。
これは身の思いを述べたものである。
心は、この世に生き長らえているならば、このように辛いと思うこの頃を、後になって恋しく思う時があるだろう。まだ見ぬ未来において。
以前は辛い世だと思っていた時分が、今では恋しいとなる。
この歌の「しのばれん」というのは、恋しく思われるだろうという意味である。
隠れ忍ぶの「忍ぶ」ではない。

一晩中物思いをする頃は、夜が明けきらずに、寝室の隙間さえもつれないことよ。
恋の歌である。心は、
思う人がつれないので、一晩中物思いをして過ごしている時分に、早く夜が明ければ辛いと思うのに、明けもしないで、つれないばかりか、寝室の板戸の隙間も〔判読困難〕ということである。

Now, if I were to live on, would there come a time when I would long for these current days that I once saw as painful?
This expresses one's inner feelings.
The meaning is: if one continues to live in this world, there may come a time when one would fondly remember these current days that seem so painful now, in some future yet unseen.
The times that were once thought of as a painful world have now become something to be missed.
The word "shinobaremu" in this poem means "will be fondly remembered."
This is not the "shinobu" (endure) of "hidden endurance."

During the time when I am lost in thought all night long, even the gaps in my bedroom seem cold and distant, as dawn refuses to break.
This is a love poem. The meaning is:
Because the one I love is cold and distant, during the time when I spend all night in contemplation, though I wish for dawn to come quickly to end my suffering, it does not come, and not only is my beloved distant, but even the gaps in the bedroom's wooden doors [text unclear] as well.
